How to prepare your skin before makeup ?

Hi all you beautiful people out there ! Welcome back to my blog.So today I have written this post because there is a lot instructions on how to wear your makeup or finish your makeup. So this post is essentially on how to prepare your skin for makeup.

Step 1
CLEANSE
Clean your skin thoroughly before you wear anything on your skin.Use a good face wash or micellar water.Since micellar waters are not very easily available in India (and they are expensive),  I prefer to wash my skin.Clean and clear oil free cleanser and Himalaya neem face wash are good options.

Step 2
EXFOLIATE (2 days a week)
hen you exfoliate your skin you slough off the dead skin and your skin gets smoother.Smoother skin means a better canvas to lay your foundation on.I like the Everyuth walnut shell scrub or sometimes I use wheat bran (the stuff that's left behind in the sieve when you sieve wheat flour or atta) and mix it with warm milk an then exfoliate.

Step 3
EXFOLIATE YOUR LIPS AND MOISTURIZE THEM
The lips are the second-most important feature of your face that comes into attention after your eyes and you obviously do not want flaky skin underneath your lipstick. So to avoid that, first slather your lips with some vaseline/lip balm, then wait for it to melt a little and then exfoliate gently using a toothbrush for kids(since the bristles are not too rough). Wipe your lips with a cotton pad or tissue paper.

Step 4
TONE
You essentially need to tone your skin so as to close all the open pores that you have. The makeup that you wear might just creep into the pores, and the rest is history. You obviously do not want clogged pores and pimples (nooooo!). You do not need a fancy store bought toner. You can simply rub a cube of ice on your face.To me that's the simplest thing to do.Or you could use some chilled green tea or Rose water, make sure whatever you use is cold, because lower temperatures will stimulate your pores to close.

Step 5
HYDRATE
Okay, many a times you do not get the time to wash your face or after you wash and tone your face, your face dries :(  No we don't want that,we want a hydrated face before we wear a moisturizer,so the face soaks it in and our skin looks alive, fresh and plump. Now a lot of hydrating mists are already available in the market. You could make a refreshing one by yourself, just blend some ice cubes and mint leaves, strain the mixture into a spritzer/spray bottle and keep it in your fridge, this should last for 3-4 days so measure accordingly and (please do not waste). Spritz some of this hydrating mist on your face this will not only help the makeup look better but also your skin will feel fresh. You could also use it after you come back after a hot day and prevent sunburn ;)

Step 6
MOISTURIZE
Moisture is very very very very important, without it your skin will look dry and it will age with time. You could definitely use an oil free or oil control skin lotion if you have oily skin or any regular moisturizer if you have regular skin. This will ensure your skin has a healthy glow.

Step 5
BUT FIRST,LIP BALM
Wear a lip balm before you wear any makeup,so till you reach the time you're going to wear lipstick your lips are already moisturized and soft. This will be very helpful when you are going to wear a matte lipstick that is somewhat drying.

Step 6
UNDER EYE CREAM/GEL
Concealing under eyes is sometimes the hardest part of face makeup, when you use an under eye cream, you are not only protecting and nourishing the sensitive area, nut you're also creating a base for your concealer. This will help you blend the concealer better.

Step 7
PRIME
A primer is a borderline product between makeup and skin care. A primer will be a barrier between all your skin care products and your makeup,it will also allow to fill in all the pores and make your foundation go smoother.Be sure that you cleanse your skin PERFECTLY before you apply a primer, because most primers are silicone based and might just clog your pores.
