How to treat dry hair ?

Hey guys ! I hope you are doing well ! So I have written this post for all my friends tackling with dry hair all the time .

So this post is going to be divided into two parts-
Quick Fixes and Long term Fixes

Quick Fixes

1)Use a hair serum
Using is a hair serum is a quick fix for dry hair, all you need to do is take a coin sized amount of the product and the simply rub it between your palms and then apply it on your hair.
Generally, this method works. We have quite a few hair serums that work.A lot of them are silicone oil based. They add a sheen to your hair and make them more manageable. The con about using them is that their formula is highly questionable, heavier silicone oils work temporarily and if worn for a longer period of time, they attract dirt and grime to settle on you hair making it drier. So use these as rarely as possible. The most common one is livon.Another option is streax.

2)Try a hot oil massage
Hair spas are a luxury, but when you don't have all that moolah to spend, you might just consider a DIY hot oil massage. So it's very simple.Warm a metal utensil on the gas stove and then pour in your oil. This will help the oil get warm and also not volatilize while you are warming it.Next massage it onto your scalp using your finger tips. Use a towel dipped in hot water and wring it,tie this towel like a turban and wait till its cold again.Do this for up to 3 to 4 times and wash your hair after an hour or so.You are going to be having really soft and shiny hair naturally after doing this. You can use any oil, almond, coconut, argan oil or olive oil.I like to stick to my favorite, the simple coconut oil.

Long term fixes

1)Say no to heat styling

Use your hair dryer, curler and straightener less frequently.Your hair is ultimately made of protein and the heat from these tools damaged and sometimes even destroys these proteins .Try more heat-less methods like T-Shirt curling or naturally drying your hair.It takes time, but it is totally worth it.In case you have to use these products, try and use the cooler heat setting in the device or if you have the budget try titanium coated hair straightners because they cause the least damage .
2)Use a hair mask every weekend
Natural DIY hair masks are so much of a need.So you could use yogurt or egg yolk as a hair mask each Sunday or Saturday and have fab hair the rest of the days.Hair masks are one awesome committed way of treating dry hair, apart from the above mentioned masks,I like to mix coconut oil, aloe vera gel and honey and apply it as a mask,it is very effective for dry hair.

3)Spf for hair
So we're crazy about the SPF for skin. Why not consider SPF for hair as well ? A lot of serums nowadays have an SPF that protect your hair from sun damage.I like using Enstylz hair serum with SPF 15.Sun exposure and heat, especially in a country in India can cause hair to become rough and dry.In case you cannot find yourself a heat protecting serum, tie a scarf like a bandanna and enjoy a bohemian chic day in the sun sans the damage.

4)Oil your hair before each head bath
Remember school days ? When your hair was great and our mom used to tie your hair into two plaits after oiling ? That actually works.Make it a habit, your hair will improve in quality and texture and will obviously be manageable.I stick to the good old parachute coconut oil.
