Hello my loves ! I'm so sorry I didn't post since a few days ,I've been so busy with college :( But,I'm back,and today I'm going to be doing a comparative review of two of the most hot selling mascaras in India.Its between maybelline colossal volume express mascara (washable) and lakme eyeconic mascara.I hope this post clears your dilemma of choosing your next mascara according to your requirements.
1)PRICING
Lakme eyeconic - 300INR
Maybelline colossal volume express mascara -350 INR
2)PACKAGING
Lakme eyeconic comes in a nice black and blue tube which takes up less space.
Maybelline New York Colossal Volume Express Mascara comes in a yellow spindle shaped casing which is oh so attractive! Reminds me of a curvy girl hahah XD
3)THE FORMULA
A mascara is nothing without a great formula thats neither very thick nor very runny and has the sexiest black pigments.So here's how these work-
-Okay in my honest opinion I am in love with the maybelline mascara,its formula is slightly more runny than lakme and thus you get amazing volume and fanned out and voluminous lashes sans the curl obviously.The pigments are dark and nice ,but not better than lakme.
-Lakme on the other hand,is slightly thicker,since it is specifically a curling mascara, the thick formula is meant hold the curl ,which it does efficiently,although it creates clumps sometimes.It has rich dark pigments which are really smooth.
3)THE WAND
A mascara wand is like that magic wand for your lashes that transform them (Remember cinderella eh!).So a wand is essential for a mascara to be up to the mark.
-The one with lakme eyeconic mascara has a smart curl brush, which in the true sense of the word is smart.It creates beautiful curled lashes which last for long and is handy to use.
-The one that comes with maybelline colossal volume express mascara is thick and creates volume, it prevents the lashes from clumping and is easy to use.
4)STAYING QUALITY
-Lakme eyeconic mascara lasts for 6-7 hours easily and the curl created remains defined till it comes off.I really find that amazing.It is not waterproof though.
-Maybelline volume express mascara lasts for 5-6 hours easily which is slightly less as compared and a little dissapointing .It does not smudge after that but flakes off slowly which may look a little ugly.
5)EASE OF APPLICATION
It is a question of concern for a beginner about the ease of applicability of a product.Hence this is also to be covered.
-Lakme eyeconic mascara is more easier to apply in general for the real good wand shape that helps you to reach the corners and tricky lower lashes.It requires two or three coats for dramatic eyes which is a little tedious.Beginners this one is slightly cheaper and a yes-yes for you.
-Maybelline has this thick and bushy brush which gives the much needed volume in a single stroke ,so thats less effort,but its difficult to use in the corners and you have to be a little more careful while using it.
6)REMOVAL
Mascara is one thing which is a little difficult to remove.I use vaseline to do so and follow up with a damp cotton boll.
-Maybelline is easier to remove obviously because of one coat application.
-Lakme requires more efforts though,but gets off completely if removed with patience and technique.
Final take :-
If you are looking for a little bit if drama and use mascara only for occaisions lakme eyeconic curling mascara is a great choice.
If you seek volume for everyday use or casual looks like me , maybelline is a bae product <3
