About it - Silicone oils

Hello there! Today I'm going to share with you some basic idea and pros and cons of silicone oil.Okay,so it all started with this styling serum I bought from enstylz which I will be reviewing later.And I read the ingredient list to be consisting of silicone oils and fragrance and I began researching about silicone oils.

        So these are basically oils which are made after a lot of processing of silica(sand) and they are supposed to be used in skin and haircare products.They are used in almost everything.

Present in your foundation to make it easier to spread it and give a dewy feel,without which your makeup would look dry and cakey.That lipstick you love also has silicones since they have property via which they hold to the colours which makes your lipstick last.They're present in the best primers also.Such that they fill your pores and give you a smooth face to apply the base.

Coming to hair,they're present in your smoothing shampoos and serums .They add a faux sheen to your hair and makes it look shiny.It also smoothens your hair such that it becomes easier to comb it.

Basically,they are great in use.But the question is,are they actually good for the skin and hair ?

I saw many views,some stating that silicone oil is great for the hair because it adds sheen to it and makes it impervious to water and dust also in skincare products,it improves the texture of the skin and makeup products are more spread-able.Yet,there are many companies making silicone free products available .There is a cons side to this too.

Silicone based products are said to form a coating on your hair and get built up over time,this can actually prevent the nutrition from reaching the right place and make it dull and lifeless in the long run.They can actually dry your skin as well over time and make it look older.Also it could be comodogenic hence they can clog your pores and cause acne.They could prevent your skin's natural oils to function and deprive it of its glow.
